Today is a good day, I woke up and have gotten a ton done. All that is left is taking out the trash and going to work. Today is also Koda's birthday! He is 1!!
Did you know there are websites just for Dog Birthday Cakes? Who knew! We are not doing that, but I am going to get him a special treat at some point today.
Making a shelf out of a skateboard is SO MUCH easier than I thought it would be, and I did it myself! That is a HUGE accomplishment if I do say so. Plus, it looks REALLY cool.
When a certain 13 year old forgets to bring his glasses he will show me that he can bowl just fine, even though he will complain when he misses a shot. Drives me nuts.
Spending an afternoon going from one thrift store to another is my idea of heaven, the kids...not so much. But we found what we needed, including 6 9x9 cake pans! Woohoo!!!
Spring has sprung, and one of my Lilies is already starting to come in. No tulips yet though...
I have two weeks until I fly out to Philly/New Jersey, and my nerves are in over drive. I must find my Dramamine... The nerves probably have NOTHING to do with the fact that I will be meeting three bloggers in Philly...nope nothing at all.

What I Learned This Week

Three days in a row...Wow
For someone who was going to step back for the move I am posting more in the two days than all week. Oh well!
The tournament went well. Hunter did a good job, and was above average for the series. I don't think it was enough to place, but he had a great time.
We had Big Sis and her Hubby over for dinner last night, and within an hour I had a headache from laughing so much. Between all of us it is a constant thing lately. I love it.
Today was Hunter's packing day. He won't be back here until after the move, so we had to go through all his stuff to see what was to small and what he didn't like/use anymore. It took us about 2 hours, but it was great. We now have three boxes of just clothes and I am waiting for the last of the laundry to get done to finish his stuff off.
The kids are outside playing ball until we have to bring Hunter home. With Boo playing baseball, Hunter is giving her some tips. "Two Hands, move to the ball, eyes open" all that fun stuff. Of course when I say it, it doesn't count.

You Capture - Joy
It is time for another week of You Capture hosted by Beth at I Should be Folding Laundry. This weeks assignment: Joy.
I think this is one of my favorites so far. Joy is everywhere you turn, whether you look at the blooming flowers, the birds loud and happy or the kids outside after a long hard winter.
We took some friends fishing on Tuesday, and that was pure joy for everyone. Ebony had never been fishing before, so he was the most excited. He sat and watched the water, just waiting for something to happen.

Take me out to the ball game...maybe
I was looking forward to a quiet Thursday and Friday...nothing to do. Time to get caught up on the things I have been slacking on. Time to spend with Hubby, something that doesn't get to happen as often as we would normally like.
That has gone out the window.
Why?
I don't read schedules.
Baseball starts this Thursday, not next Thursday.
Opps!
And if they play or not is up in the air right now as a rough day of weather moves in for tomorrow.
So I just might get to have a night of quiet after all!

The Battle Wound competition continues!
Yesterday the kids were playing some driveway baseball. They love to play this with the neighborhood kids, everyone has such a great time.
We always warn the kids, watch what you are doing...
be careful of the ball and the swinging bat...
don't throw the bat after you hit...
make sure the person is looking at you when you throw the ball.
Yesterday, one didn't listen to the warnings.
Yesterday someone got cracked in the knee with the aluminum baseball bat.
It swelled.
It freaked me out a bit.
It almost was a trip to the ER.
But they were fine after a while of ice and Motrin.
And it wasn't Boo this time around.
Hunter has some wicked cool bruises on his knee.
Lesson learned.
Hopefully.

You Capture - Spring
It is time for another week of You Capture, hosted by Beth at I Should Be Folding Laundry.
This weeks assignment was "Spring". I laughed a bit when I read that, especially since we got snow and nastiness this week. But, before that all came in there was a lone icicle hanging from a tree. I got to it before the kids did, which is no easy feet!

You Capture - Reflection
It is time for another week of You Capture, on it's new day Thursday! This weeks assignment was Reflection.
To me, reflection was looking in the mirror, so I made myself take a step out of my comfort zone and look at other ways to reflect. Water, glass, mirrors and shadow. I took some fun pictures, but these three are my favorite.
First up is a goofy one of Boo. Give her a mirror and she will go crazy. I love her sticking her tongue out at herself...or maybe it is me.
Here is another one of Boo, but she got distracted by the rainbow of marker stains on her hands. I love the one eye in the mirror, simple and still so focused.
This last one was taken at a house we looked at this weekend. There was a pool of water on a concrete slab, and the railing looked amazing bouncing off the water.

Blah
How often do you see this "Chance of snow 100%". I know it won't happen, but if this storm missed us it would be hilarious!
I love living in Minnesota. The changing of the seasons is one of the main reasons.
But I hate HATE the brink of winter/spring. It is miserable. I feel like washing my car every day to keep the slushy salt nastiness off it, and my shoes and pants take a nasty toll too. Boo's boots have to be put on the heater almost everyday, from simply walking home from the bus stop.
It was gorgeous out last week, after we got 7 inches of snow. We had high 40's the end of last week, I wore my spring coat. Now we are getting another system coming through that will dump rain AND snow on us, and bring some freezing temperatures.
Right now we have Freezing Fog. Freezing Fog...interesting. It is almost noon and we have fog. Not something I am used to seeing at all.
But, I just keep thinking that in a couple weeks coats will be shed and spring will start creeping back in. I can't stinkin wait!!
