What I learned this Week - lists

This week is historically a rough week for me. Both kids have birthday's, me and Hunter have our anniversary and we have the family birthday party. This year I am throwing the Valentine party at Boo's school into the mix.

On top of all that, we are still looking at houses. That is cutting into my planning time, and my list writing time. Not a good thing.

How am I keeping it all straight? This year I am trying something new. Major lists. Everywhere.
I have one at work to keep me on track and focused. What I wouldn't give to have those 8 hours to get things done around the house. This list will make sure I get my daily work done, and give me extra tasks if the daily work is small.
I have a list on my counter that is simply a to do list. What I have to get done this week, and when. I also have a To-Get list going as well. We are having a fruit salad (yummy yummy) and I didn't get the fruit yet. Plus, I need plastic bugs for Boo's cake.
I have my food list, what we are bringing and what everyone else has so generously agreed to bring as well. I have my RSVP list, and my packing lists (we are staying at a hotel on Friday night).
The last few years have been very stressful at birthday time, and I am trying so hard to avoid that this year. Crabby Mommy is not how to celebrate! This has been a wonderful and hard lesson to learn, but I am getting there!

I am the list queen, especially when something big is happening. I sure hope they help you!

Sounds like a busy week. Our anniversary is the 17th and I'm glad I'm getting this being sick over with now. I'm almost always sick on our anniversary. This would not be a good week if I had all that to do LOL. I'm sure it will all come out fine and everyone will have a fun time.
Blessings,
Kim

I REALLY need to start the "list thing" - funny thing is, I did make one this morning.

I used to have such good memory- but the older I get, I find it harder to remember every little thing I need to take care of! LOL

I can't live without lists! I seriously think I would regress into some sort of neanderthol without lists. For years people thought I was so together and organised and then I lost my filofax and the truth was discovered! Great post!

I love lists and love crossing things off. I'm lost without my lists. Good luck with all the festivities. I'm sure they'll all be a blast.

I too am a total list person and get teased about it all the time. I don't know what I would do without my list... I would probably never have milk in the house.

I'm a list girl, too. I make lists, then rewrite them so they're organized well and printed neatly. Then, sometimes, I lose them and have to start all over again. The husband has been known to ask what "version" of the grocery list is sitting on the counter and if it needs to be kept.

Lists keep me sane. It sounds like you will stay sane(r) by using them at such a busy time!

I honestly don't know how I would accomplish anything without a list. I get such a thrill from marking things off!

I would DIE without my lists. I'm not a naturally organized person, so I have lists scattered everywhere. They are my salvation! :-)
