So many questions

With all the stress of the birthdays, things have been pushed to the wayside. Between cleaning the house (sort of) and trying to keep up on things I am feeling it today. There are major stressful items that must be dealt with, one being our future home (once we decide on the one).

This weekend we looked at a couple houses, one that we really liked. We are working to see what we would have to do with this house, replace carpet in one room and paint in a couple others, before we make our decision. It is a wonderful home, but oh my lord I am nervous.

While we are house shopping, we are also looking at all the things that come along with owning our first home. These are things that I haven't had to think of in some time, really never.

I have to make some phone calls in the coming days, ones that I have never had to make before, but I am excited to make them all the same. Where can we park our camper? Does it have to be indoors, or on the side of the garage? What are the local rules on fire pits/bon-fires? What are the noise ordinances in the areas we are looking. How early (or late) can we mow the lawn? What are the normal watering restrictions in the area?

These are all questions I have never had to think about, but are important. Plus, there are so many more. I can't even begin to type out my list of questions for both our realtor and the city. It is overwhelming but wonderful at the same time.

Am I terrified...oh yes. But oh so excited too. This is a huge step, and one that we are very ready for. We have worked so hard the past few years taking care of things, and working past our...well...past. I am so proud of us, and so happy that we are doing this together.

I am so excited for you! But you're right, there are so many things to think about! Deed restrictions, neighborhood associations, schools, neighbors, etc.

Once you get past all of that, you'll be able to enjoy the rest of the process. Just don't panic at the closing when they put a stack of papers 6 inches thick in front of you! You almost feel like you're signing your life away, but as soon as they hand you the key, it will be all worth it.

How exciting!!! Good luck. It's a big step, but a good time to buy. You can probably get a good deal, yes?
