Finally she can eat

Boo is on the mend!

She did in fact have strep, and it was pretty bad. Her rapid came back in under five minutes...go big or go home.

We got home, gave her the wonderful medicine that would make her feel better and snuggled up on the couch. By about lunch time she was bouncing back. Her throat still hurt, but she was finally able to eat. Thank goodness!

By dinner time, she was laughing and giggling. Even closer back to normal. We watched The Incredibles, and then crashed. I think I crashed harder, but man I was exhausted.

This morning, back to normal. No fever, no headache and only a minor sore throat. By 10 am she will no longer be contagious, and she is already getting cabin fever. We just might try bowling today.

She bounces back so quickly, it always amazes me. But, the doctor did say if she gets strep one more time in the next few months we will be taking a trip to our (not-so) favorite doctor...the ENT.

She said many kids who have chronic ear infections convert to strep throat about school age and end up having their tonsils removed. The doctor gave Boo a look and told her (as she was sleeping on the exam table) "Don't be on the of those kids Boo...don't do it!". Like I don't have enough to worry about!

So glad she's feeling better!! Cooper (4 year old) had his tonsils and adenoids removed in August. His wasn't as much due to strep infections but sleep apnea and recurrent ear infections (he also had tubes put in). I won't lie to you: it wasn't fun. And it took him pretty much three weeks to recover. But his sleep apnea went away overnight, and it did seem to help quite a bit. Although now we're dealing with chronic sinus infection that won't go away with meds, so not sure where that will lead us. It's always something, isn't it? I'll send up a prayer for Boo's improved health!
