I have started and stopped this post 4 times. I can't seem to get focused.

This past week has been busy, emotional and a struggle. We have had 4 Christmas celebrations, with one more today. Doctor appointments have been almost everyday, on top of dealing with the emotions that have come.

I have two family friends going through struggles, and that has put so many things in perspective.

One of them lost their Father just before Christmas. Friday was spending visiting at his memorial. I grew up with this family, playing softball and volunteering at their Mom's school in high school. They used to babysit my brother and I before school started, and we loved going to their house. Our prayers are with them as they move through this hard time.

Another friend found out amazing news, then horrific news. A long time friend announced two weeks ago that his wife was pregnant. We were all so excited, as they have been trying for some time. Two days ago, they announced that his wife has breast cancer. While she has 5 months left to go in her pregnancy, she is having surgery next week to remove the lump. Please PLEASE pray for this family. They are so strong, but any thoughts would be wonderful.

I hope you are all having a great New Years Eve. Keep your family close and love them a bit more.

It's so hard when you lose someone, but at Christmastime is particulary difficult. I will send up a prayer for your family and friends.

I used to work for the American Cancer Society and I met more than a few women who were diagnosed with breast cancer during their pregnancy. They were all survivors who went on to see their children grow up. I'm sure it will be the same for your friend, but I will certainly pray for them.
