Now, yesterday I asked you a question. The answers that came in were...well..
True.
Boo has cut her hair.
Nothing majorly dramatic, but enough that she now has...bangs. I detest bangs. With a passion. But hers are starting to grow on me a little...and I do mean a little at this point.
It doesn't look bad but...
She also has a wing...on the left side of her head. She could almost fly away.
When I asked her why she did it, she wanted bangs. Lordy.
This is not the first time Boo has done this. She did it once when she was three. She cut one of her pig tails, and about half the hair got cut. We had a friend, who is a stylist, come over to make it as even as possible so she wouldn't look completely crazy for daycare the next day.
This time, she is six. So we had a serious conversation, and took a trip for a hair cut. Before that hair cut (and no I didn't get any before pictures. ), she had bangs on one side of her forehead, and it took 4 barrettes to keep the wing back. Not cute.
So now, she has full wispy bangs, and a wing on the left side of her head. It still takes two barrettes to hold back the wing, and we can pin back the bangs if I am in the mood.
I am thankful that she only cut some bangs. She could do like I did when I was her age, and look like this
It was the summer after second grade when I hacked off half my hair, and this was the result. My mom loved it, but me not so much.
So all in all, Boo didn't do to bad, but it was still a minor shock to see the long strands of hair on the bathroom floor.

Oh, I think she looks cute! When I was Boo's age, my mom kept my hair cut in a Dorothy Hamill cut. I hated it! I wanted Crystal Gayle's hair, so I would clip a bath towel to my head and swing it like Crystal did and sing "Don't it make my brown eyes blue."

In some places, wings are a popular accessory!
Thankfully, my kids haven't done this.
Yet.
We've had one teeny little episode with my now 7 year old cutting her hair while at school. Thankfully it was not that noticeable!
Just remember bangs do grow back out.

My daughter got bangs too! Where I am not fond of them really on me...they look adorable on her and they also look cute on your daughter!!!
Hmmm Like mother, like daughter. :) I think her hair looks cute. I am not a bang person either, so I can feel you pain with this. I am always talking my daughters out of it. :)
She does still look cute. I must say I was never brave enough to try to cut my own hair. I wonder if my girls will torture me with that soon though!
I think it's a rite of passage to butcher one's hair. ;) She looks adorable with her bangs. I wouldn't have noticed the wing at all.
Yikes! Why do moms force us in to bad haircuts? Mine did that to me a lot!

I guess I am lucky I have boys and if they mess it up I can just shave it off.
I think it looks great although I am with you, I detest bangs. I grew them out about 10 years ago, tried them one more time, and finally grew them out for good.
this is really funny. You know, because it's your kid and not mine. j/k! lol. I, too, HATE bangs, but your girl looks good with them! My niece did something similar but to the top of her head. She cut it down to the scalp. My sister has been keeping her hair short to let it all grow out to the same length. Sydney tells me: "Auntie Tanya, you're so nice to let your kids have long hair!" :)
