Be aware

As much as I love Craigslist, this story shook our community to it's core. It made national headlines, and we still don't know the answer to the main question, Why?

A 24 year old college graduate answered a Craigslist ad for a nanny position. When she went to meet the alleged family, she was murdered in the local park. That same night we were driving home, directly by the park and couldn't figure out why there were police helicopters all over the place. We soon found out.

I have a couple of friends that have searched for Nanny jobs on craigslist, and fellow parent who answered that same ad. It is hard to think it could be someone we all know.

Be safe when answering ads, for anything. Be cautious when seeking a product from an online advertisement. Check references if you can, and don't go pick up/deliver on your own. There are way to many risks involved.
