I ...As a teacher, I must thank you for this post!! I am CONSTANTLY telling (extraordinarily well-meaning and dedicated) parents that at conferences! I think that's so funny that Boo's school actually sends home notes to parents reminding them of this!! The difficult conversations also come when I'm trying to convince a parent that his or her child--whom the parent is convinced is perfect--is, yes, an incredibly wonderful kid (all kids are!!), but may have some learning or behavior issues. However, I must say that I'm really lucky to have had incredible parent/teacher relationships with parents!! It amazes me how many parents push their kids to be more than the kid next door.
